Will is starting to lose his baby hair. I am beginning to think he look a lot like this little guy!

Fourth of July Weekend

Will got to spend the Fourth with his aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and GREAT-grandparents. Here are some great pictures of Will with his 3-yr old cousin Olivia - we have no idea why he is sticking his tongue out. The other picture is of four generations. We really have five right now, but great-great grandmother is recouping from pneumonia in Pennsylvania.

Puddin'

Look at this puddin'...seriously, he's the cutest boy ever! We've spent the last few weeks getting adjusted to me going back to work for 6 hours a day. Daddy is home with Will until I get home and then he's off to work - we don't get to see a whole lot of each other, but its worth it to save the expense and hassle of daycare! After a few shaky days I think we are finally getting down to a rhythm.

He is starting to smile AT us which is so fun. And since he's been out of the NICU for 2 months now, he's off the Neosure Formula! That is huge, considering it was $15 for a small can...thankfully he only had 2 feeds a day of it.

All is well for Will...

Will handled the surgery like a champ! His groin hernias were repaired and they did repair the umbilical hernia and he now has a nice "innie". He didn't even cry in recovery - even despite the fact he was STARVING after not eating for 10 hours. That is eternity for him!! We only spent one night in the ped ward. Unfortunatly, that was also the night that we had tornados touch down in the city - so we spent three hours in the corridors of the surgical recovery ward with all the other sick kids and adults. Grandpa Casey and Uncle Josh chose the wrong time to visit and were also stuck there! THANK YOU to all those who were praying for Will.

Extreme Outie Makeover

The little guy has surgery tomorrow morning at 9am to repair a groin hernia (common for premie boys) and hopefully this umbilical hernia - if he tolerates the anesthesia well. They usually leave the belly button alone to resolve itself and don't resort to surgery until 5 years of age. That is a LONG time to live with a outie that big! It doesn't bother him, except for lately his monitor cords are being pressed against it and I think that discomforts him. While at the hospital, he'll recover in the NICU and get to visit all his old nurses. Lets hope this is the last time we'll be visiting St. E's for a while!

On the BLOGwagon...

Okay, okay...I've finally given into the world of blogging. I've resisted thus far because 1) nothing interesting happens to me, let alone interesting enough to blog about and have people read it, 2) I've always thought it a bit presumptuous to write about your life and thoughts as if EVERYONE is hanging on your every word, and 3) seriously, who has the time? However, I do have a little kiddo now, and maybe some (namely, my mother) people will be hanging on my every word about him. I am offering my apologies now for the rough prose...my brother is the one in the family with the talent in that area.

A bit about the title...many of you know that Will is on a infant apena monitor because the little bugger forgets to breathe every now and then. We do get to "unplug" him a couple of time a day and get to carry him around like a normal baby. We'll use this blog to share his first years with everyone.
